Game plan

The call sheet, built from the tendency work rather than beside it.

Who it is for

Coordinators, head coach.

How this is handled today

The call sheet gets built beside the analysis instead of out of it. The sheet is a document, the evidence is a report, and the only thing connecting them is the coordinator's memory of a conversation on Tuesday.

After the game nobody can reconstruct why a call was on the sheet. The review becomes a debate about recollection, and the same call goes back up the following week for the same unexamined reason.

What changes

Build the plan against situations rather than a blank page, with the evidence a call was made on attached to the call itself.

Install tracking runs through the practice week, so what was taught and what was called are one record. The Monday review starts from what was actually planned.

What you do here

  • Build and publish the plan against situations, not a blank page
  • Attach the evidence a call was made on
  • Install tracking through the practice week

What it reads

  • Play by play
  • Efficiency
  • Practice
