In Season

Self scout

What your own tendencies actually are, not what you believe they are.

Who it is for

Coordinators, analysts.

How this is handled today

Every staff believes it knows its own tendencies, and charting your own team is the first job cut when the week gets short. So the self scout gets done thoroughly in the offseason and then trusted for the rest of the year.

Tendencies drift. By November the picture a staff is defending itself against is the one it had in July, and the tell that actually got exposed on Saturday appeared somewhere in between.

What changes

Tendency by down, distance, personnel and field zone, recomputed as charting lands rather than when somebody finds the time.

Drift is visible across the season, so you can see when a tell appeared instead of only learning that one exists. You are reading what an opponent would chart on you this week, not last spring.

What you do here

  • Tendency by down, distance, personnel and field zone
  • What an opponent would see if they charted you this week
  • Drift across the season, so you know when a tell appeared

What it reads

  • Play by play
  • Efficiency

Agents on this surface

None. Coordinator tools are read only here.

Whatever loads reaches your own records and nothing else, works out its own figures, and puts them on the screen itself. It never edits a number on the way to you.

Seeing it with your data. This surface reads your program's own store, so the public demo shows the league-data surfaces only. Request access to see it against yours.
